Founded in 1992 the Institute of Government Accounts and Finance [INGAF] is defined by its excellence in the field of public policy, finance, audit and management. Its programs attract professionals from not only the Central Government, but the state governments and union territories, public sector undertakings and autonomous bodies and banks. Its main campus is located in the heart of the national capital of Delhi, adjacent to the premier Jawaharlal Nehru University. It has three regional centres at Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai, equipped with multi-media lecture theatres and computing and information technology services. Its faculty is drawn from a committed team of experienced professionals, blending leading edge practices with rigorous academic analysis. It has also fostered partnerships with institutes of eminence for joint initiatives at curriculum development, academic research and training. INGAF conducts training at the induction and entry level, together with professional skill up gradation at the middle and senior management levels covering about 5000 participants every year. Its training methodology is a ‘blended’ learning cocktail with a judicious mix of web based learning and interactive case study based classroom lectures, facilitated on site discussions and group work and guest lectures by subject specialists and experienced professionals. A multimedia centre for facilitating distance learning programs has been launched together with a dynamic website for online teaching. A video conferencing facility is on the anvil. Once set up, it would facilitate sharing of resources with the regional centers at Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai and other partnering training institutes. For more than a decade INGAF has been conducting training on different aspects of public expenditure management, internal audit and budgetary reforms for more than 100 members countries of the ITEC/ SCAAP consortium, impacting the professional skills of hundreds across the world. In addition, it has been conducting customized programs for SAARC countries and is endeavoring through the platform of AGAOA for a greater degree of engagement within the SAARC region. Its international courses are extremely popular and are reflective of India’s enduring commitment and focus on enhancing cooperation with the developing world. |
